The Certificate: Paramedic is approved by the State of Florida Department of Health Board of EMS. However, it is NOT a guarantee of eventual accreditation.

The Certificate: Paramedic program launched in the Spring of 2024. It currently has no graduates; therefore, no students have attempted their licensure exams. Licensure pass rates will be published on the College’s website as they become available. The program is offered at the Key West Campus and Upper Keys Center.

This 42 college credit certificate program prepares students for employment as paramedics (Emergency Medical Technicians & Paramedics) to function at the basic pre-hospital paramedic level and treat various medical/trauma conditions, using appropriate equipment and materials. Students wishing to apply to the Paramedic program must meet college requirements to take college level courses, hold an EMT Certification and have completed Anatomy and Physiology I with lab (BSC 1085 and BSC 1085L) with a grade of C or better.

*Students are required to possess a valid EMT certification in order to register for Paramedic courses.
